New tartan gets a flyer . . . from Ewan’s brother

THE brother of movie star Ewan McGregor has launched a new charity tartan.Squadron leader Colin McGregor, a Tornado pilot based at RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, unveiled the new Erskine Veterans Tartan at the air station.The new design has been created especially for Erskine, a Scots charity which cares for former members of the armed forces.An Erskine spokeswoman said the new tartan incorporated the dark blue of the Royal Navy, the azure blue of the Royal Air Force and other colours representing the original six Scottish army regiments.Wearing the full kilt outfit, squadron leader McGregor, who has just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq, said: “I am delighted to be helping Erskine launch their new tartan.”I think the new tartan is a fantastic idea and I will wear it proudly.” Source: www.eveningtimes.co.uk
