McGregor says he doesn’t need box office hits

London: Actor Ewan McGregor has defended his role in the critically mauled “Stay” saying that a film’s box office potential is not his primary concern.McGregor seems indifferent to the film’s poor performance. The film received a low-profile release in the US following much debate between director Marc Foster and the distributor who believed that the film was too confusing, contactmusic.com reported.McGregor says: “I think it’s open to interpretation, and that’s a good thing, right? It took ages to get a release.”It doesn’t matter to me whether the films I’m in are successful or not. I do them because I like them, not because of box-office potential. That doesn’t mean I don’t want them to be successful, because of course I do. I love the buzz you get from being in a really big hit. It’s just with me, that doesn’t happen all the time.” newkerala.com
